Southern University at Shreveport/Bossier Campus Library is seeking
qualified applicants for the following 12-month position:
Cataloguer Librarian-
Responsible for the bibligraphic control of all materials including
electronic resources; ALA-Accredited Master's Degree in Library or
Information Sciences, with at least two (2) years of
professional/supervisory experience; Salary commensurate with experience
and qualifications.
Educational Media Director-
Responsible for coordinating multimedia resources at the university, will
interact with the faculty and students in the delivery of instructional
media technology; ALA accredited M.L.S. or comparable degree in the field
of instructional technology; Salary commensurate with experience and
qualifications.

Innovative Interfaces, Inc., is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual
who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment to fill the
position of Implementation Consultant.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Consult with users in profiling data load, indexing
and display decisions. Serve as the initial and primary contact for all
assigned new sites, coordinates with Innovative inter-departmental staff on a
variety of installation issues. Responsible for all phases of data base load,
including the initial software load, bibliographic, item, authority and patron
records, and other data loads, as required by the site. Prepare tables and
files to insure conformity with customer profiles and contract specifications.
Manage implementation schedule, by coordinating with the customer, third-party
vendors and Innovative support personnel. Duties also include troubleshooting
and correcting software and data load problems, using UNIX job control
language and Innovative utility programs as well as other tools. Position is
based in our Emeryville office and does not require travel.
REQUIREMENTS: MLS or equivalent, sound understanding of library practices and
procedures. Knowledge of MARC format and cataloging; minimum of one year of
professisonal experience. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the
following: library technical services, data or technical processing, or
reference in public, academic or special libraries. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills; strong commitment to service. Salary commensurate
with experience.

Montgomery County Memorial Library System located in southeast Texas just
50 miles north of Houston has an opening for the Branch Coordinator
position. We have a Central Library and 5 branches and serve 230,000 people.
Position available: July 8, 1996
Salary: $1376.92 bi-weekly
ALA Masters degree in Library Science required, minimum of 5 years public
library experience, computer literacy, knowledge of library management
principles, involves frequent visits to 5 branch libraries, must provide
own vehicle for transportation.
Primary duties: Interviews, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates
staff; liaision between director and staff; budget responsibility,
policy, automated circulation system; represents the library system at
the direction or in the absence of the Library Director; interacts
directly with individuals, County staff, Library Board, Friends of the
Library, County Commissioners.
