The Programmer/Analyst Interest Group meeting at ALA in New York will
focus on the technical aspects of programming in Java. The meeting
will be on Monday, July 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hotel
     Intercontinental Whitney Room.

Jenny Colvard from OCLC will give a brief introduction to Java and
then discuss her work in converting applications to Java and designing
and programming new applications in Java.

As you are well aware Java is a hot topic and many organizations are
beginning to switch to it. Please come prepared to share your
experiences and thoughts concerning Java programming.

We will also be electing a vice-chair and secretary at this meeting.

I look forward to seeing you in New York.

     Kurt Kopp
     Vice-chair, PAIG
