I tried logging in, and almost nothing worked.
The shell (/bin/csh) core dumps very easily. (E.g. typing "l^?", where
^? is from pressing DEL, gives "Segmentation fault (core dumped)".) I
tried very hard to get stty erase '^?' to work. It didn't. Using
stty erase 'Ctrl-v DEL' didn't work. Putting it in a script (created
with Emacs to insert the ^?) and sourcing it didn't work. Seems like a
small thing, but being stuck with C-h for erase really sucks.
Next: fs sysname returns "rt_aos4". This breaks just about everything I
can think of. Even if it returned rs_aix31, I'm not sure things would
work, because even though it is supposedly running an AFS/NFS
translator, @sys stuff doesn't work. I.e. I have
/mit/{acevedo,sipb,others}/@sys in my path, and it can't find any
programs in the @sys directories.
So I doubt that I'll be testing this much in the future, at least until
AFS is fixed...
