Later versions of the O'Reilly "Managing UUCP and Usenet" book cover C
news and NNTP, but much of the documentation is contained within the
distribution itself (UUCPable from uunet in ~uucp/news/cnews/c-news.tar.Z)

The basic idea is to cd to the conf/ directory, run the build script,
answer all the questions, run all the scripts that build tells you to
run, and then test things out. After you discover all the things
you did wrong the first time, you run the build script again and fix
things. :-)

And consider INN as a news transport, even if you're a UUCP-only site.
