Researchers and preservationists working on the submarine CSS Hunley,
sunk 136 years ago off Charleston SC, have made an amazing discovery.
While carefully removing a century worth of growth and oxidation on
the bow they discovered a placard with the message -
"Re-elect Strom Thurmond."
