Hi,
I'm the newly appointed Humormeister. Since the list has been running
smoothly for so long, I'm basically going to try and keep it running
as it did during Drew's reign. Here is the new (but mostly old) policy
statement that I have borrowed from Drew.
I ask that everyone please send their submissions to vicmoral@mit.edu
and I'll re-route them accordingly. When I *do* resend them, my
general policy is to retain the oldest sending address and date as
well as the newest. The intervening addresses/dates are left to
whimsy. If you would rather not be known as the originator of a
messaage, just say so and I'll take your name off
I'll send practically anything, and I will probably manage to offend
just about everyone eventually. If you or your world view feels left
out - don't worry, I'll get to you eventually... :)
If you want an old humor posting that made the rounds; sorry (for
now). I'm pretty busy and disorganized at the moment, so I probably
won't be able to find it, but I am planning on setting up an archive
of past postings and possible non-posted longer pieces sometime during
the summer. Once this is set up, I'll let the list know of its URL. If
anyone would like to help with this let me know (I have space for this
endeavor set aside on my own server).
A few no-no's: humor@mit.edu is *not* for discussion or requests!
This list can suck up a lot of bandwidth from time to time, and the
membership can get pretty large sometimes. The list isn't moderated
only because I'm too lazy to move it to a listmaint server. Maybe one
of these days...
Also, I am not adverse to sending copyrighted material, *provided* the
copyright notice is and/or author is still attached (that way no one
can claim plagurism).
And now back to our regularly scheduled humor -
