It's true....
You DPMI guys got those DOS/4GW DPMI extender video games to start up!!!
Well, at least on the way.. Here's my success report on DOS4/GW games:
These are 32-bit demo/shareware games using the DOS
HERETIC v1.1 - 3D DOOM style game, Playable - CONGRATULATIONS!
DOOM v1.9 - Graphic startup screen appears then freezes
DOOM2 v1.666 - Graphics startup screen appears then freezes
HERETIC v1.0 - Graphics startup screen appears then freezes
SYSTEM SHOCK DEMO - Starts up, but locks up if the mouse is used, or
when many keys are pressed at once. It actually
made it all the way into the 3D environment, though!
RISE OF THE TRIAD - Hangs at text screen right after DOS/4GW initialization
(The shareware nagging screen)
DARK FORCES DEMO - Seems to hang at DOS/4GW initialization.
But... Good luck, for a brighter DOSEMU future... I am truly amazed at
the progress of the DPMI team now that it is showing in those 32bit
video games... (One of them actually runs... hallelujah!)
