Does anyone have a set of named configuration files for BIND 4.9.3beta9?
I find that the standard MIT configuration files do not work in disconnected
operations (ie. SLIP connections). Using the default files, I find that
none of the information in named.local is stored in the named cache. If
I change the files so that the named.local is included by the "cache"
entry in named.boot (either directly, or indirectly), I find that if I
dump the named database, the entries exist, but when I query for those
entries, named is attempting to contact the root nameservers, and eventually
times out.
Has anyone been able to configure named 4.9.x so that it will work in
disconnected operation, by giving hints or overriding local data?
