I just built BIND 4.9.3 BETA-9 for Linux. (actually, now that I think
of it, I forgot to apply the one patch that I have -- I'll fix that --
but that's not the purpose of this message).
I wanted to know if people had any problems with:
1) Me installing (and testing) BIND 4.9.3 on quiche, and
2) Me creating a named package for Linux which would include
the programs from the bind installation as well as the MIT default
named config files, so that people can run named locally for better
name-service performance.
As an aside, I've noticed much beter performance when running named
locally on my machine over a 14.4 modem, rather than requiring a net
transfer for _EVERY_ name lookup. Repeated lookups are much faster
this way!
So, whaddya think?

PS: I've already tested the nslookup from my build, and successfully
made an hesiod query.
