As Mark Eichin mentions, I am gatewaying some of the more interesting
groups into newsgroups on nntp.lcs.mit.edu already. I'm also
de-digestifying them as they come in so that they're easier to read with
your favorite news reader. Currently I'm gatewaying
680x0 admin apps configs debian doc fsf fsstnd gcc ibsc2 kernel linuxbsd
linuxss localbus lugnuts msdos net new-channels normal nys pkg ppp pro
problem-reports promotion scsi serial seyon standards tape term uucp
wabi x11
Plus the linux-fsstnd mailing list from ucsd. Unfortunately, the Lab
has configured the server to only allow access to {lcs,ai}.mit.edu, but
perhaps one of the mit news servers might want to take a feed of them.
(I am a little cautious because I've managed to stay out of the loop
on "news server management", and the less I do the easier I can avoid
feeling obliged to do other things as well. But adding a feed should
be below the threshold.)
I don't gateway them back, although in principle it wouldn't be that
hard (just adding the appropriate X-Mn-Key). I'm not motivated to
do that work myself, however (notice a trend here? :-) ).
