1) Athena does not use dedicated servers for the SRVD's...the packs are mixed
in with the general volumes without a problem. It certainly would not be as
much load as the sipb locker is on our servers.

If we were to do the sysmte pack idea then:
- we could try building the whole Athena release
- we could include some common large disk sinks like X on our packs
The other advantage is being able to deploy fixes more effectively.
As for Ted's comment about the AFS cache...since at this stage the cache will
be in memory everytime someone reboots the machine it will have to resuck
things over the link. Since many people turn their linux machines of
regularly this is an issue.
