Actually, some of us here in Burton are thinking of setting up a shared
/usr partition (not just /usr/athena), so that not everyone would have to
have the whole thing locally. This would include things like X (which
takes 16+ meg on my machine) in addition to the athena packages.
Among other things, we don't have a 56k problem here, even if people in
other dorms are interested in doing this with us (100 Mbps between dorms
and 10Mbps inside the dorm).
If anyone is interested in this or has suggestions/comments, please let
me know.

PS- in case it wasn't clear, this would probably mean 2 machines exporting
full /usr partitions (ro)
