Most likely, they both keep their app-defaults file in
/usr/athena/lib/X11/app-defaults. /usr/athena/lib/X11 is a symlink to
/usr/lib/X11 on Keesh, which means the app-defaults files weren't
backed up with /usr/athena. We should restore any missing files from
the source tree or packages, and should find a way to get the
app-defaults files into /usr/athena.
