When the heavy Linux development was happening last summer, Quiche
was, to my knowledge, the only Linux box on MITnet. finger
resnet@sunshine indicates that this is no longer the case.

My point is that there's no need to wait for a reinstall. Somebody
with a Linux box on MITnet and libc 4.5.x should rebuild mh and make a
new mh package.

For those of you who missed it, here's the Quick Guide To Producing
Linux-Athena Packages(tm):

1) Find the source. It's nfs exported from keesh.mit.edu:/usr/src, in
   the /usr/src/athena subdirectory.

2) Find out how to build it. Read the file
/keesh/usr/src/athena/README. I mean it. Do not try to build any
Linux-Athena package without first reading this file. Really.

3) Install the new programs on your system. Instructions are in the
   README file.

4) Create the .tgz file with a command something like:
   tar zcvf package.tgz `cat /mit/linux/pkg-lists/package`
There's a script on Keesh called "makepackage" that does this.

5) Use ftp to a dialup to transfer the file to /mit/linux/packages.
Send mail to linux-athena@mit annoucing the new package.

Have a nice day.
