In quiche:/etc/athena/login/Xlogin, you'll find this:
! if this file exists, xlogin will do reactivates.
*srvdcheck: /etc/athena/reactivate
The comment has nothing to do with the behaviour. The default value of
srvdcheck is /srvd/.rvdinfo; if it *doesn't* exist, it is assumed that
(1) a reactivate is needed (2) if a reactivate just happened, that it
must have failed.
Would someone put the "real" explanation (namely, that this is a hack
to get around the warning message -- might as well say /etc/motd or
/dev/null instead, so that people don't confuse it with
*reactivateProg) in the right file in the sources?
