I diagnosed it as autodetecting incorrectly; the symptom was that it
never asked her which driver to use, but never got on the network, either
("NFS server not responding"). She had the machine on the network just
fine when she booted to the old install, so it's not a drop/cable problem.
We've had this problem before with 3c905b's; seph (and several other
people) had been working on a solution, but I think it got dropped again.
Yes, it's supported, but there's two possible drivers that could be used,
and one of them doesn't work with all revisions of 3c905b's.
