LILO problems

I just installed Athena Linux, using the SIPB installer, on the
recommended hardware configuration
(Optiplex GX110/L) Everything appears to work, except LILO:
when trying to boot the computer from the hard disk, LILO stops at
the LI stage. Booting from the boot floppy generated during the installation
process is going OK.
