I believe what must have happened is that he specified a name server in
LCS that knew the abbreviated form for his machine's name.  If that's
the case, I can generalize the script to deal with this with a couple of
hours work, plus a re-install for testing.  However, it might be easier
just to request in the documentation that users leave the nameserver
pointed to w20ns in the initial part of the install.  Does that sound
reasonable to people?
