I'm currently reinstalling pickled-herring, with the graphical installer.
As I went through, I've noted both changes to the on-line documentation
that I want to make, as well as comments and questions that I have.
I've also listed all sections for which I don't have anything to say,
just for completeness.

I'd really like someone to look over this stuff for both style and
content.

In particular, I'm confused as to what we should say about DHCP selection.
As it stands, it seems to me like people will select DHCP when that's
not what they want, and become confused, and my changes don't seem
much better.

I'll send more mail soon with any end-of-install comments I have.

Mouse Configuration
  (all good)

Welcome

  Welcome to the SIPB-Athena Installer

You can find the install guide at
  http://web.mit.edu/sipb/doc/rh-net-install.ps

(that is, replace everything that's there)

Install Type

The only supported option is to choose "Athena Workstation" here.
If you choose custom install, be sure to select the Athena package,
later, and be aware that your system won't be considered supportable.

(We should keep the current help's paragraph about fdisk, too, but
  throw out everything else.)

Install Window
(this has the "are you sure you want to let me partition" button)

  Automatic Partitioning

  Are you sure?

You will lose data by accepting the default partitioning for your
  system.

If you want to preserve data on existing partitions, you should choose
  to manually partition.

Disk Druid

(We should take out the bit about Partitionless Installation, because
we don't support that (or should we?). Then take out the paragraphs
referring to the redhat installation guide, and replace them with
  the following.)

We recommend a / partition of at least 2 gigabytes, and an appropriate
swap partition. A reasonable rule of thumb for a swap partition is
50Mb or 150Mb - <amount of ram that you have>, whichever is greater.

If it's convenient, allow an additional 100Mb partition, with a mount
  point of /usr/vice/cache.

Network Configuration

(Get rid of the first paragraph of theirs. Add in its place, the
  following.)

Check that the hostname here is yours; if you mistyped your IP address,
earlier, the hostname will be set wrong here, and you can correct it.

You shouldn't select DHCP here, unless you're already registered for
DHCP on MITnet, and you're installing on a subnet that isn't your
  home subnet.

(Do we want to make selecting DHCP during the install result in an
ADDR=dhcp setting in the rc.conf? It seems like it would be nifty,
but maybe not worth the effort. I do feel like we should say something
about it here, but I don't know how to phrase it.)

Hesiod Registration

  s/secure/reliable/ in the first paragraph
(hesiod has very little to do with security)

  Add to the bottom:

If you've already registered from this hostname, there's no need for
  you to do so again.

Time Zone Selection
  (all good)

Account Configuration
(Delete everything below "Then create a user account".)

Monitor Configuration
  (all good)
