Howdy,
Just installed my Dell Precision 420 (dual processor) using the sipb
athena install.
Things went well except for:
- The X setup did not quite work. First off the Redhat graphical
install never did work. So I did it using the text based mode.
- After the install I got the display RPM from Dell which works
fine.
- More importantly I never could get AFS working with the SMP kernel.
After looking over the /etc/rc.d/init.d/afs it seems as though the
code tries to load the module
/usr/vice/etc/modload/libafs-2.2.14.mp.o
(after correctly determining that the kernel was smp).
This module complains that it was not built for the current kernel
vmlinuz-2.2.14-5.0smp
- I also tried booting using the UP kernel. In this case AFS
worked fine.
Any advice on this second issue would be appreciated.
