We do, however, have to keep in mind that work we do on Athena ports
can and will increase I/S support costs if we do our work poorly, and if
OLC or the Faculty Liason's spend enough of their time having to clean
up after our mess, I/S is within it's rights telling us to take our ball
and go home.

Previous Linux-Athena efforts also never made any effort to deal with
the notion of autoupdate, with the exception of the update.pl script in
the Linux locker which gained a reputation for being a great way to
reduce your workstation to a pile of smoldering rubble.

Attempts to build a custom install floppy have thus far failed,
cf. the mail Sam was sending to kcr. If you'd like to help out and
build a custom floppy, feel free. I feel that a custom floppy probably
is a requirement for an actual release, but keep in mind we're still in
beta.

rufus.w3.org, if you're willing to consider that at MIT (it is on net
18).

Yes, I added the support for Linux to mkserv myself, and made mkserv
remote, discuss, mail, and print supported for Linux machines. If there
is a desire for other services, I've yet to hear it (I am aware of a
desire for "mkserv web", and am thinking about it).
