Gary Steele called today about a problem with the SIPB installer on an
Athlon box. After the installer has been loaded over NFS, and the mouse
configuration has been chosen, the installer just stops. Alt-Tab'ing
across to another virtual terminal, he saw it was having problems
talking to the NFS server.
Given that most problems we have seen with the SIPB installer also
occur with the stock RedHat installer, it would probably be worthwhile
to find out how a stock RedHat install goes over NFS on this box. Is
there an NFS-accessible copy of the stock installer we could point Gary
to?
As a workaround, it might be worthwhile to try setting up FTP/HTTP
servers that can also be used for the SIPB installer.
Alex.
