Actually, I tested the install, found that the Athena RPMs had been
copied onto the NFS server without world-read bits, and fixed the
problem (but failed to tell anyone but tibbetts, whom I erroneously
blamed for the problem because he was listed as the owner of the
RPMs).

They're there. Since we also want to support non-i686 machines, they
will certainly be there for future kernels as well.

If SIPB people won't do testing, ask for outside testers on linux-help
and/or linux-announce. (But try to have something which works on at
least one machine before doing this.)
