Subject: XFree86 4.0
Date: Thu, 01 Jun 2000 11:42:30 EDT
From: Nichols A Romero <naromero@MIT.EDU>
Hi,
Has anyone observed a memory leak with the XFree86 X server?
I noticed it recently when the frequency of memory swaps
increased. (Lots of hard drive thrashing.)
Initially, X is using a reasonable amount of memory (<15MB). After a day
of use, top reports that X is using 77MB.
At least one of my fellow grad. students, has run into a similar problem
with an almost identical configuration aside the video card.
We're both using the prelease kernel 2.3.99-pre9.
