To the postmasters, have you still been having problems
with the sendmail.cf in Linux-Athena 4.2, or have most of those
been fixed? (By problems, I'm referring to things like mail
bouncing or going to postmaster, etc).
With all this mess, I'm leaning towards using the sendmail.cf from
Linux-Athena 4.2 as the Athena sendmail.cf is lacking many of the
behaviors that are desirable. (Easily allowing localusers unless amu
already fixed that, having /etc/aliases work right, etc). I don't see
a problem with local queueing of mail since it has been working fine
for many users for a long time on personal Linux-Athena machines. We
may want to provide a sendmail.cf-cluster or something for machines
that are meant to be in department clusters. Even better, having a
package or configuration option for "cluster" machines (which would
also include living group lounge machines, etc) might make sense,
especially since there are other things that make sense for them
but not for private layered Linux-Athena machines.
