BTW, should we add you to linux-dev or do you want to just
read it in discuss?

The things that I think are most important to get documented before release:

* The installation and initial set-up procedure.
It may be worth including some mention
of what to do if you have a machine running 4.2.

* Key changes from 4.2 and how to deal with them. There are some
substantial changes in system administration that have taken place.
Supposedly, the Athena 8.2 private workstation docs contain much
of the relevant information and just pulling it all together
makes sense. One of the main things to deal with in particular
is some documentation of the changes to local user accounts
and remote access. This includes some documentation of ssh,
documentation of /etc/athena/access, documentation of what you
need to do to allow for locally-run mailing lists and local
users who receive mail locally, documentation on the recommended
way to add local users, etc. We should also document the
i386_linux2 -> i386_linux3 change and how it will affect users
(in particular, some software in lockers may not work properly
  until it gets rebuilt).

I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of things. Let us know how we can help
you. Dragging some prospectives in to help (especially since there
are a bunch of Linux-clueful ones) might be cool and useful as well...
:) The following two messages sent here recently list some information
sources and also things that need to get updated.
