To: linux-dev@MIT.EDU Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1999 15:59:04 EST From: Erik Nygren <nygren@MIT.EDU> The new Linux-Athena 5.2 install's sendmail.cf doesn't support /etc/localusers for handling mail for local users. Aaron claims that this is because we switched to using the standard Athena sendmail.cf... This should certainly get fixed before release or we'll have a flood of complaints. It may make sense to generate the file from /etc/athena/access. As an unrelated note, I'm trying out the 5.2 RPM's on a friend's machine which is giving me a good idea of some of the problems we're likely to run into. So far it has been working fairly smoothly. It will be extremely important that we have documentation *before* release that explains what the changes are and how to make customizations. Changes such as the handling of /etc/passwd.* and the new use of /etc/athena/access really need to be documented. Erik
