I did this earlier, actually.

I ftp'd, built, and installed vixie-cron in /etc/crond and
/usr/bin/crontab. It's an old program, but it seems to work fine.
/etc/crontab.src contains the source for the root crontab entry, the
only one running currently.

The source for vixie-cron is in /usr/src/etc/cron.

This brings me to the small testing mud I'm running on quiche out of
/home/coldmud. This is not a public mud, and it will hopefully go
away in a month or so. It gets backed up twice weekly by mail to me
(the only entry in /etc/crontab.src is the entry which runs this
backup). The account can be blown away without conscience after doing
a /home/coldmud/bin/backup_mud.
