Neat. Thanks.

Another problem -- makepackage does not seem to actually be increasing
the 'Release' number on new packages. All of the packages currently
have a Release of '1' -- this seems wrong. I can't see any obvious
	bug in makepackage.c

I nuked the old packages and the old .spec files to make all of the
current packages revision 1. The old packages don't count. They were
built from the mainline, not the 8.2 branch. They were test packages
for my own personal use. They were never announced.

Since I cannot log into snork (most likely because of this particular
	problem)

You can't log into snork because I reinstalled packs/config and forgot
to set NOREMOTE back to false and SSHD back to true in rc.conf. Just
fix rc.conf and everything will be fine. Sorry about that.

I copied the remaining platform/linux directories from Tux into
/mit/linux/devel/athena. I plan to rebuild the entire srvd...

That won't serve any purpose, but go ahead if it makes you happy.

	...rebuild all the packages

I object to that. There's no reason to increment package numbers if nothing has changed.

and then install snork's athena distribution using these packages.

That's a good idea. I would have tested out a clean install using the
Athena packages last time I was in the office, but I couldn't find a
working floppy disk in the office. (Yes, I'm totally serious.)

Thanks,
Sal.
