/lib/elf has been deprecated from the start. However, all the startup
scripts and other wishful thinking won't change whether the matlab
binary looks for /lib/elf/ld-linux.so when it runs.
(It's possible that the binary has been updated to a more sane
version. However, the current binary does contain the string
"/lib/elf/", so I have my doubts.)
