A quick glance through the MIT host table, there are 678 machines
which match 'LINUX'.  There might be even more machines which have
incorrect HINFO.

Ready> grep -i linux hstath.txt | wc
     678    6780   35672

How many tether users are there, total?  I'm not convinced that your
survey does hold across the tether community.  Even if it does hold,
that's still only 33% of the Linux users.  But it still doesn't mean
that all those users want to install parts of Linux-Athena rather than
installing the whole thing.
