Actually, I found some more bugs...
You should do this:
attach -n -m /image -e small-gods:/redhat/3.0.3/i386
cd /image/RedHat/RPMS
rpm -e afs athena-rc attach misc mit-named ttylogin xlogin
rpm -i athena-rc-1.0-7.i386.rpm afs-3.3-1.2.13.22.i386.rpm
rpm -i attach-1.0-3.i386.rpm misc-1.0-7.i386.rpm mit-named-1.0-4.i386.rpm
rpm -i ttylogin-1.0-7.i386.rpm xlogin-1.0-6.i386.rpm
After *THESE* are installed, you should be able to upgrade directly.
Sorry for the confusion. Bugs aren't your friend (and people telling
you about features that don't exist doesn't help, either).
