Unfortunately, I won't be able to make tonight's meeting; I did want to
make an observation of the RedHat vs. Debian question. I think we
should go with supporting RedHat.
Both RedHat and Debian are technically quite good. Unfortunately for
Debian, very few people are actually using RedHat; there are many, many
more people using RedHat. (It's a bit quite like the situation of
NetBSD vs. Linux, actually. Both are technically good, and the
technical quality is on the whole more or less the same --- however,
many more people are using Linux.)
The other consideration is that Debian has committed to make dpkg
support .rpm files; so, if we put out RPM packages, they should work for
both Debian and RedHat systems.
