For those of you who use Maple, here is the gist of the press release.
I've tried to cut out the marketing hype and just leave the underlying
information content. MIT doesn't have this available for distribution
to MIT folks yet, but I suppose that will happen sometime in the near
future. I have no information about when MVR4 for other platforms
will become available.
[now for an annoying but necessary disclaimer suited to this
barratry-ridden world we all live in]
Note that I'm just posting this for informational purposes. This does
not imply an endorsement of the product, the company, etc. by me, by
MIT, by my mother-in-law, or by anybody else. Use or not use the
information as you see fit and at your own risk.

Waterloo Maple Ships Maple V:
The Power Edition, The New Standard for Mathematical Software
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, January 15, 1996 - Waterloo Maple Inc. has begun
shipping Maple V Release 4 for Windows and for OS/2 Warp. Dubbed "The Power
Edition", this new release is the latest version of the company's
comprehensive mathematical problem-solving systems. The Power Edition
includes major advancements in mathematical and graphical functionality and
user interface features.
[hype snipped]
The Power Edition significantly increases the functionality of the current
version of Maple V. The mathematical algorithms have been dramatically
extended and now include a powerful set of routines for dealing with
piecewise defined functions, an improved equation solver to handle
inequalities and inverse trigonometric functions, as well as a complete
package for dealing with two-dimensional geometry. The Maple V interface has
been completely redesigned to provide users with a versatile technical
document processing environment. New features such as hyperlinks,
collapsible outlining, and typeset mathematics in input, output and text
regions allow the user to produce high caliber print-based and electronic
documents.
[more hype snipped]
The Windows version of the Power Edition is a full 32-bit application and
supports Windows 3.1 (under Win32s), Windows 95, and Windows NT. It is
available as either floppy disks or CD-ROMs. The OS/2 Warp version is the
only high-performance, comprehensive symbolic mathematics system for the
operating system. Both the Windows and OS/2 Warp versions list for $995 US.
[even more hype snipped]
