This might be of interest to MATLAB users:
I am trying to organize a group MATLAB purchase from Mathworks for those of us
who would like to use MATLAB on our personal computers.
Matlab 4.2c for Windows has note-taking and m-file scripting functions built-in.
Matlab 4.2c for Macintosh runs native on PowerPC machines. (Yes, it is finally
available, though I don't think they've finished the symbolic math toolbox yet.)
MATLAB 4.2c, normally a $495 purchase, costs $250 if 10 people buy and
$187.50!!! if 20 people buy. (It doesn't matter if some versions are
Mac and some are Windows.) Toolboxes are normally $195 each. They
become $100 and $95 each with 10 and 20 purchases of any combination of
toolboxes.
If you are interested in purchasing MATLAB for your personal computer, please
reply as soon as possible. I would like to complete the group purchase by the
end of January. Also, if you know of anyone who might be interested, please put
them in contact with me.
