For those MIT'ers that don't browse the IAP Guide, I'm doing a Maple
talk/tutorial during IAP entitled "Maple Programming for Hackers".
Some knowledge of Maple and minimal exposure to parsing or functional
programming will be assumed. Topics may include a discussion of Maple
language syntax and semantics, expression evaluation, the treatment of
procedures as data structures, and an introduction to the Maple
"hackware" package. The event will be pretty informal, and held in
the E40-302 Visitors' Centre, from 1-3pm (*not* 1-4pm as stated in the
IAP Guide). I'm figuring on using the first 1 or 1+1/2 hour for my
spiel, the rest of the time to be used for general Maple chat and
question answering. Enrollment is limited to 32. Pre-registration is
on a first-come, first-served basis by sending me email with your name
and email address. There is no fee for attendance.
