ztalk?

I'm trying to figure out a way of creating a "talk gateway". What I'd
like is that all that has to be typed is "talk username@columbia.edu",
and a daemon on columbia.edu will figure out which machine that user is
actually logged in on, and will set up the talk connection somehow. The
cheapie way would be to zlocate the user and send a message to that user
like what talkd sends, saying "please type 'talk
person@originating.host'"; something more clever might do more of the
work of establishing the connection.

Has someone already done this?

I do have the zephyr-8.13 distribution from aeneas. It comes with an
undocumented client directory called ztalk, which looks like parts of a
first stab at using zephyr as an aid in constructing talk links. Is
there any documentation on this? Does it exist in a more complete form
somewhere else?

Thanks.

Ben
