MIT Personal Certificates: Time to Renew!

Certificates are the key to crucial secure Web services and applications at
MIT. Among these are:
-- Benefits Office personal account information, and open enrollment in
November 2001
-- CaseTracker for the IS Help Desk
-- ECAT for purchasing from BOC Gases, NECX, Office Depot, and VWR Scientific
-- MIT Libraries for off-campus access to some electronic resources
-- Roles database
-- SAPweb for creating and checking requisitions
-- MIT Software Distribution for downloading site-licensed and other
restricted software
-- WebSIS for student personal and academic records and information
Certificates obtained before June 4, 2001, are set to expire by July 31,
2001. Certificates obtained beginning June 4, 2001, will expire in 365 days or
by July 31, 2002.
Renewal of personal certificates is not automatic, and everyone at MIT must
get a new personal certificate for each computer they use. Get your own new
certificate now, and encourage those you work with to do the same,
especially if they do not yet have MIT Web certificates.
To get a new certificate:
1. Go to http://web.mit.edu/is/help/cert
2. Click on "Get MIT Personal Certificate"
