Hi Mike,
You might want to also make sure the the Default User folder exists in the
.\winnt\profiles directory. If for some reason your profile is not updating
properly (which it probably isn't, considering the permission problems you have
been having) AND if you do not have a locally stored profile, then the OS will
try to create your profile when you log on. The information in the Default
User folder is what is used to create your profile, so if it does not exist,
then the OS will tell you it cannot create your profile and boot you back to
the log in screen. On the machines that boot you out--check to see if that
directory exists--and if it doesn't, copy it from a machine that does have one.
