I have 4 NT servers on my network.
Server A is a file, print and mail server
Server B is a file and print server and the Primary Domain Controller
Server C is a backup server (no one connects to it, it just does backup)
and the backup domain controller
Server D is a web server. The hardware on Server D has been failing and
let someone talk me into replacing it with a win2000 server.
The problem is that Backup Exec can't backup a win2000 server unless it
is installed on a win200 machine. I don't want to run the domain backup
from my web server, so that means I will have to upgrade Server C from
NT to win2000. If I do that, I will be left without a backup domain
controller. Seems kind of risky to me. Suggestions? Should I install
NT server on some old PC I have lying around, just to make into a BDC?
Also, what happens if I try to upgrade an NT domain controller to win2k?
