Hi Matt.

My apologies. I did see your message sent to ntpartners (still very much
active). I forwarded your message to others in IS, as did others. It has
sparked a renewed discussion as to what our stance should be.

The truth of the matter is there has not been a lot of testing of SP4 on
campus, at least not to my knowledge. We hope to have an official
statement soon, though.

But for now I believe our stance is that all of your machines should have
at least SP3 plus an assortment of critical post-SP3 hotfixes. (If you
need that list let us know.) If your machine is shipped to you with SP4,
do not be overly concerned. There have been reported problems with SP4,
but very few of those problems have caused much concern here in IS. We are
not (officially) recommending at this time that you upgrade from
SP3+hotfixes to SP4, also.

Thanks,

Leonard Kimble
IS/DCS
