Subject: an unusual request! (and intro)

Hi all!

Well, this will be one of the more unusual posts in recent times to
veg-ne and veg-boston. :) As you may know, a number of events are
being held at MIT for the Great American Meatout. In order to raise
publicity for this event, we were wanting to have someone go around
campus dressed as a vegetable and passing out carrots (or some other
veggie item) and literature. Well, we need someone to *SEW* a
vegetable costume. Yeah, seriously. If you have any talent, even
amateur-ish, with a sewing machine and a bit of creativity and would
like to help out for a good cause, please reply to this email. :) You
will be reimbursed for fabric costs.

As a side note, when I was in elementary school for Halloween a couple
of years I was a carrot. (!) Now, I didn't become a vegetarian until I
was in high school, but thinking back, it was kind of a portend. :)
The carrot costume idea came from a book, and the costume was made by
sewing together a piece of orange fabric into kind of a sack shape,
sewing on a floppy mop of green felt for the leaves, and drawing
horizontal lines with a black felt marker to represent the roots. All
in all, it was pretty cute!!

Now for some more info on me:
