For the more advanced vegetarian in cyberspace,
AND one who is an organizer of a local vegetarian society,
VEG-ORG offers the chance to talk shop among those
actively working within local vegetarian societies.
Be prepared, however, to PROVE that you are a key person in your local
vegetarian society.
The Vegetarian Resource Center, listowner of VEG-ORG, will ask for you to
send a subscription of your local group's newsletter TO VRC (Cambridge, MA)
and some documentation that your group is a viable vegetarian network of
some kind and that you are actively involved in keeping it viable.

The VEG-ORG mailing list is maintained for the following purposes:
Help form and administer vegetarian interest groups;
Help the organizers in local vegetarian societies
    throughout the world find one another, chat with one another,
    help one another, compare notes with one another,
    and live better lives as vegetarian society organizers;
Inform organizers and major volunteers of the world's
    (English-speaking) vegetarian societies of successful events
    and methods that have helped to build local organizations;
Help vegetarian society organizers find the resources,
    opportunities, and people to facilitate their volunteer work;
Help build a strong, dynamic, cooperative, and effective
    vegetarian movement throughout North America and the world.

   This list is open to vegetarian organizers who have an
    active local or other vegetarian society.

    Eligibility will be determined by the listowner,
    the Vegetarian Resource Center, of Cambridge, MA
    (see address below).

   To apply for list membership,
    place the Vegetarian Resource Center
    (address below) on the mailing list of your local vegetarian society.
    Send current and back copies of your newsletters to VRC and
    an e-mail posting requesting membership in the list.
    After the newsletters have been received in the Post Office Box
    of the Vegetarian Resource Center AND have been found
    to indicate the presence of a functioning local vegetarian society,
    AND the e-mail request has been received by VRC computer,
    responsible and eligible vegetarian group organizers
    will be added to the VEG-ORG "help list."

    {Those merely PLANNING to develop a local vegetarian society
    can be assisted by direct e-mail or snail mail correspondence with
    the Vegetarian Resource Center.}
