Yes, there are many good cookbooks out there, but the one I would suggest
starting with is Molly Katzen's _Moosewood_ cookbook (from the Moosewood
restaurant in NY). It has some pretty basic recipes, as well as a few more
exotic ones, and should be useful for many years.
There is a new edition of it out now, which has taken many of the recipes
and mande them either vegan or at least reduced the fat content. (I saw Ms.
Katzen on a TV interview about the new release.) You might want to check
into that.

PS: Sorry not respond more promptly about the shirts to all those who asked
for them. Leor has suggested that there be one bulk mailing to MIT to save
on mailing costs. So far there are three requests. Any more takers? Shirts
are either black or white with the same design, and come in medium, large
and extra large. Specify colour and size. $12 each, plus about $3.00 for
shipping (unless sufficient quantity can reduce the mailing cost.)
