I question the value of advice given by a book that is over 2000
years old, has been translated, altered and reinterpreted many times,
converted from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English, and ultimately
lost through the course of history. I am not saying that
Christianity is invalid. I am saying that it is foolish to pluck a
single phrase from such a book on which to base ones life. How can
the Bible override the compelling evidence for vegetarianism - just
look at the list of facts recently circulated ("Diet for a new
America"). Furthermore, why is Christian teaching any more "correct"
than, say, Hindu, where cows are forbidden to be eaten?
Yours,
Lewis.
