Vegemite (note the second E) is yeast extract, isn't it? We in the
UK have Marmite too, it's been around for years and the troops used
to be fed it in the war (it is no longer for some stupid bureaucratic
reason). It is one of those things you either love or hate. The
reason veggies eat it is because it is the only rich non-animal
source of vitamin B12.
I don't think we should call the group Vegamite. I don't think there
should be a reference to MIT, as that will exclude me, anyone else
from abroad, in fact anyone from outside Boston. Come to think of
it, you're going to exclude people from Boston who aren't at MIT.
Call it something short and simple. Like VSG. Or what about
Vegetarian Email Group?
