Please read this! Instructions for (de)subbing follow.
We have set up many lists to avoid these problems. Please use them
instead of being dissatisfied. You can be on as many lists as you want.
If you just want announcements, particularly related to MIT
(e.g. re meetings to lobby ARA, that movie announcement, and other
non-dining activities) you should be on VSG-ANNOUNCE
If you want to exchange recipes, you should be on VSG-RECIPE
If you want to get together for restaurant trips or communal cooking in
the Boston area or on MIT campus, you should be on VSG-DINE
If you want to be involved in discussion, you should be on VSG. Please
do not send mail to VSG saying that there is too much discussion. That
is what the list is for. If you don't want discussion (or just
MIT-discussion, which we haven't had any of yet, and if we did it would
probably be plans about changing ARA and should go to vsg-announce),
don't be on the VSG discussion list.
Regarding the context of discussion: everyone is vegetarian for
different reasons. Health and ethics seem to be the biggest. It would
be inappropriate to say "Hey! Stop taking about health issues. I am
vegetarian for animal rights reasons!". In the same way, it is
inappropriate to say "Hey! Stop talking about animal rights issues. I
am vegetarian for health reasons!"
On the other hand, I feel that animal rights issues that are completely
unrelated to vegetarianism (vivisection, e.g.) should not be discussed
on this list unless it is in conjunction with veg issues. If you have a
non-veg AR issue to discuss, you can send it to SETA - the MIT AR
group's email list.

send mail to VSG-REQUEST@MIT.EDU
