Hmm?? Masao's is strictly vegetarian. I know there are some macrobiotic
people who eat fish and other animal products occasionally, but Masao's
doesn't serve any animal products. No meat/fish, no dairy, no eggs, no
MSG, etc. Great for vegans!!
Hints for dining at Masao's:
The macro platter ($11) is large, but if you don't want to eat a lot, you
can order a "mini macro" for $7 (not on the menu).
Dishes at Masao's are made with minimal salt and other seasonings. If you
want extra seasonings, there is a good selection of them on top of the
counter.
Some desserts might seem dry and chalky if you are used to eating desserts
made with dairy and eggs. The apple strudel is heavenly, however!
They have been offering special dinners around the holidays. We had an
excellent multi-course Thanksgiving feast there.
The only problem with Masao's is that it is not open on Mondays!
