Ilham and I went to login tonight, and were greeted by:
A new version of Athena software is now available.
Please contact Athena Operations to get more information
on how to update your workstation yourself, or to schedule
us to do it for you. Thank you. -Athena Operations
Niether we nor the others on the floor could find a solid indication
that we were supposed to update our friendly-test workstations. (I
took the opportunity to set "AUTOUPDATE=true" on one of the ones in my
office, both to test the new packs and the private-ws autoupdate.)
Should we update when we see the above message? That would be a much
more direct way of getting the message to us than to have us login,
read our mail, then update a day later when we logout. On the other
hand, it would put more responsibility on Rel-Eng to make sure the
packs are ready before moving them.
I normally wouldn't worry about this, but our release schedule is
rather tight, and I don't want to lose too much time in discovering
new bugs...
Awaiting your instructions.
