is yelp properly configured on 9.4 Suns?

I'm having yelp problems on 9.4 Suns.
When I do:
add gnumeric_v1.4.3
cd /mit/gnumeric_v1.4.3/distrib/i386_rhel4/share/gnumeric/1.4.3/doc/C
yelp gnumeric.xml
on 9.4 Linux machines, I get a help window with information about gnumeric.
When I do the same on a Sun, I get a pile of parse errors in the launch
window, ending with an error dialog from yelp:
The selected document could not be opened
